I shared a joke with my Dyslexic son at West Point. I texted him:
If live gives you Melons - you are Dyslexic.
He responded the next day - that he saw my text and did not understand it. He read Melons as LEMONS! So, I guess you have to be careful sending written jokes about dyslexia to dyslexics.
BTW, did you hear about the dyslexic devil worshiper?
He sold his soul to SANTA.

Books for Dyslexic Readers
Having a son and a brother who are profoundly dyslexic, I wonder if we should be producing books specially formatted for those with reading difficulties. I believe that using block formatting and choosing
the right fonts make it easier for dyslexics to enjoy our publications.
Verdana and Geneva are fonts that have been identified as the easiest to read from the thousands of fonts freely available on the web. Interestingly enough, Comic Sans is often chosen by dylexics as the easiest to read. And, given that my son was taught to read and write cursive at an early age to help overcome his reading problems, I wonder if a cursive script might not be the best choice for those who suffer the most.
So, the question of the day is, should there be a website for e-books available by Font?

My Dyslexic Son Graduates Valedictorian of His High School Class
Speaker: Granath Musson, valedictorian
What the speaker said: Musson told the story about how he couldn’t read or write when he first started school and was diagnosed with dyslexia. But he overcame that to eventually go on to become valedictorian.
“Anything is possible. Play the cards you are dealt.”

Typefaces and Fonts for people with reading problems
Since Boys are much more likely to suffer from vision issues, it is important that books
aimed at boys should be formatted with the clearest and easiest to read fonts.
The following link discusses the pros and cons of different fonts.
Unfortunately, there is no clear consensus as to which is best. So,
you are going to have to experiment with your own styles.

Thanks.
